Dear Baby,
Cole will be your oldest brother. You will love him so much and he will love you too. Cole is one of those kids that can pick up on the way people are feeling and will always try to make people happy. He is just a joy to be around. You are so lucky because when you arrive you will have the whole summer with him before he start kindergarten. He doesn't know yet that you are coming, but when he does he will be so excited. We haven't told him yet because we don't want to tell people until we know if you a a boy or girl yet.
Cole is also really into electronics. If you ever need any help with those things just remember to go to him he will be able to help. He is also soooooo smart. He loves to learn and he loves to go to school. I just can't wait for you to meet him.
Love,
Mommy

About Nana
Dear Baby,
I was thinking yesterday that you will never get the chance to meet Nana, my mom. When this thought came I was just overcome with sadness. For you see she went back to live with our Heavenly Father back in March of this year.
So I decided I wanted to tell you about her. She was so wonderful. I don't think she believed this, but she was beautiful. But most of all she had the light of Christ in her eyes. She always was trying to help others, even when she was so sick that she herself needed the help.
There are so many things that I would love for you to know about her. She was so silly. She had to be with 9 kids. The times that she was really herself was when she just let loose and had fun. Like when she would swing upside down and the swings.
She loved. I don't know anyone that could have loved as much as she did. She not only loved her family, but everyone she met. There was a time around Christmas one year that I went grocery shopping with Nana. After she paid for all of our food and that was like 2 carts full. She noticed that the person behind us was having his card declined. Without being asked she turned and paid for all of their food. She did not ask for anything in return she was doing what the Savior would have her do.
She was so creative. Before Nana got sick she was very much into sewing and really anything crafty. She was the costume mom for our High School and loved to help out there any way that she could. She took the time to get to know all of the kids and made sure that they felt needed and loved. One year we did the musical Once Upon a Mattress. There was a boy there named Fernado. He came from a family where his brothers were all in a gang and he wanted something different. Financially he could not afford to be in the musical. He had to get dancing shoes and so many other things. Nana took him under his wing and bought him everything he needed. Because she did that she not knowingly gave him the means to choose a path for himself that led him to go to college and do so much with his life. He later told him that he kept those shoes on his dresser to remind him of Mommy Hageman, and that if know one else believed in him she did, and that kept him going.
Like I said there is just so much. I am sure that you are getting a chance to play with her now in heaven. Though you will not remember those special moments when you come to Earth please treasure them now. Know that Nana loves you and she always will. I will try my best while you are here to tell you the stories of her so that she can be a person you can look up to.
I love you so much and can't wait to hold you in my arms.
Love Always,
Mommy
